Not your run-of-the-mill spaceship, is it. The Titanic has everything you could ever want: the lobby with a very helpful receptionist,  several elevators, a bar, a spaceous 1st-class restaurant,  a music room, and even an arboretum.  I had to resort to a walkthrough for many some puzzles, but I loved the humor and the text adventure parser. Cool game.  Cool

One of my most favo(u)rite games of all times.

I’d like to use this opportunity to express my gratitude to a person who generously provided a Starship Titanic Official Strategy Guide (a great companion to the game and a fun to read) for me.
(once again), Skeeter!

The ST’s parser was a real treat. The first time I ever used the damn thing in a(ny) game (being a member of the post-IF generation and all).

NO OTHER GUIDE HAS:

SOLUTIONS so complete we despise you for needing to use them!

HINTS so subtle you’ve got to be a bit of a smart-ass to understand them!

DESCRIPTIONS of natural language parsing engines and object-oriented
programming by people who ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT THEY’RE TALKING ABOUT!

UNCENSORED PHOTOS of DOUGLAS ADAMS in the VERY ACT OF WRITING!

ILLUSTRATIONS from people who’ve won REAL OSCARS!

INSIGHTS into the SECRET LIVES of PROGRAMMERS!

NO-HOLDS-BARRED back stories to all the CHARACTERS!

LOL! I want this one too. My collection of Official Guides is small, but I treasure the ones for Obsidian, The Neverhood, The Last Express, and Bad Day on the Midway.

EDIT: Post-IF generation? Have you been lying about your age?  Grin

Hey gramps, is the Titanic guide as good as the above text, which I got from Amazon?

It’s even better than in the official blurb.
For me (and anyone who loves the game), that is.

P.S. We (unofficially) turned the Darkstar thread into a Bad Mojo thread, didn’t we?

Thumbs Up

Which reminds me… I also have a guide for DARKSTAR.

I’ve had the game installed for a couple of years now but haven’t persisted so far as I really haven’t been too inspired by most of the screenshots posted of it but I love your different screenshot Karlok! And along with your comments it really makes me want to get on with it - I don’t know when, so many games & so little time to play them!

Of course you love my screenshot of the luxurious restaurant, Chrissie. I hate to tell you this, but that’s for 1st-class passengers only. This cubicle is where you start. Looks a bit cramped, doesn’t it. It’s got everything you need though: bed, tv, music, cupboard, toilet, writing desk, vase with flower, comfy chair. The bed and the comfy chair are not in the pic… just pull and push. Smile

It’s a tad smaller than I’m used to but I was looking to down-size anyway - it looks perfect apart from where’s my PC?  Laughing

Ah, I love, love, love the game!  The problem with your room, after you finally find it, is assembling it first.  And yes, the Titanic guide is a hoot and a half.

It’s a fun puzzle. Chrissie, bring your own laptop. I’m sure the Starship has wifi aboard.
