Vote for one game in each versus match that you’d like to see advance to the next round. Feel free to skip any match that you don’t want to vote in.
Voting for this bracket will end on 14 January at 23:59 GMT.
The four games in each bracket that survive their versus match will go on to the next round (the Round of 32), and so on, until only one game remains and wins the tournament for our community’s favorite adventure game.

Match 4 - Syberia
3.5 time winner of the “Really Annoying Caption Contest Saboteur” Award!
1) Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars
I haven’t actually played Dark Fall, but I’m fairly certain it wouldn’t have changed my vote if I had - I mean its’ BS!
2) Gemini Rue
Another opponent I haven’t played, but still no doubt in my mind. GR Is one of the best games from the recent years.
3) The Dig
As I belived I have stated before, I’m a huge disc fan, but the second one is also the weakest, and I really dig the dig
4) Syberia
No contents - I am one of the few who really didn’t like Brothers, so it wouldn’t have gotten my vote against almost any game - Syberia also happens to be a brilliant game and one of my favourites.
You have to play the game, to find out why you are playing the game! - eXistenZ
- Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars
- Gemini Rue
- The Dig
- Syberia
True classics all of them!
Playing: 1) Broken Sword 5 2) Road 96
Match 1 - Broken Sword 1
Match 2 - Gemini Rue
Match 4 - Syberia
2. Quest for Glory IV
3. The Dig
As I said before the Quest for Glory IV vs. Gemini Rue match is the toughest match of the first round for me. They’re both really good games but neither are really in that upper echelon either. It’s hard to say which is better.
But the Quest for Glory series is just pure fun, so it wins out for me.
M1: Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - Along with Syberia easiest in this bracket
M2: Quest for Glory IV - Gemini Rue is a good game, but really there’s no contest here
M3: Discworld 2 - One of the two toughest matches for me in this round, but let’s say it’s 52-48% here, the other one will really be flip of a coin
M4: Syberia - Along with Broken Sword easiest in this bracket
M1 - Broken Sword
M2 - Gemini Rue
M3 - mmmmmm…. this one is hard - Discworld 2
M4 - Syberia - also a hard choice
I am one of the few who really didn’t like Brothers, so it wouldn’t have gotten my vote against almost any game.
You and me.
M1 Broken Sword
M3 Discworld 2
M4 Syberia
Easy choices:
Match 1: Broken Sword 1
Match 2: Gemini Rue
Match 3: The Dig
Match 4: Syberia
M1: Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars
M2: Gemini Rue
M3: The Dig
M4: Syberia
M1: No contest here. Despite that infamous Irish goat, the first Broken Sword is a jet-setters dream, full of intrigue, excitement, and a rich narrative. With its animated graphics and voices, the original version still holds up well today—no remake needed.
M2: I know I said in a previous post that I’m not a fan of retro pixel graphics, but in Gemini Rue I actually like it since it was the first pixel art game that I was aware of. However, the main reason I love Gemini Rue is that it’s a gritty, dark and dirty detective game with parallel stories. It’s also not too difficult, and that’s a plus for me.
M3: When digging for a great game to play, The Dig is a great choice.
M4: Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons may have beautiful graphics and amazing puzzles, but Syberia has that too, as well as a very deep and engrossing story. The early 2000s were a depressing time to be an adventure gamer. It seemed like The Longest Journey would be the swan song for the genre, and then out of nowhere, Syberia reared it’s robotic head, and showed us that the genre was coming back. Oops, I mean automaton head, not robots (I don’t want to defend Oscar). Anyway, Syberia paved the way for the second golden age of adventure games that later was matured by digital distribution and companies such as Telltale and Daedalic.
