Adventure game fan art, music, and other tributes
On this thread and its purpose
People are often making and sharing cool stuff on the Internet, and some of it is even related to adventure games!
But sometimes I feel a bit silly creating or bumping a game-specific thread just for sharing, say, one image. Maybe I’m not the only one? So let’s try a thread that’s solely about cool adventure game tributes that any of us find on the Internet, and then see what happens. This also gives a place to share older stuff that’s been out on the Internet for awhile and is still well worth sharing but isn’t specifically “newsworthy.”
Of course you should still feel free to create a new thread or bump a game-specific thread whenever you think that’s more appropriate for what you want to share.
My entirely selfish secret reason for this thread is that I want to see all the cool things you all dig up that I didn’t know about!
Let’s start!
Three LucasArts fan artworks by Glen Fernandez Sardi:
Full-size versions here:
Monkey Island 2
Day of the Tentacle
Grim Fandango
I’m gonna blow my own horn here with my own stuff.
First off, a vectorized version of a scene from DOTT:

This is not from an adventure game as such, as it originally is from that Leisure Suit Larry time waste app that came from Windows 3 ages back. I just wanted to redraw one of the apps pictures in higher resolution.

And finally, these three takes of the original King’s Quest boxes I did solely as practice pieces after I bought some liquid inks.

I agree. I would love to see Monkey Island game (or even animated movie) with gfx like this, Disney certainly has the resources to pull that off.

Really nice work, tomimt!
Duckman: Can you believe it? Five hundred bucks for a parking ticket?
Cornfed Pig: You parked in a handicapped zone.
Duckman: Who cares? Nobody parks there anyway, except for the people who are supposed to park there and, hell, I can outrun them anytime.
Don’t forget Jón Kristinsson’s work.
His illustrations of adventure games can be found here, at “Point-clicking” (formerly “Use verb on noun”).
He used to post on the forums as well, here’s his “Use verb on noun” thread from a couple of years ago.
The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
Here’s some fan art by this random guy named Patriot_41 I encountered on the web. I apologize that this is actually not from an adventure game. But his stuff is awesome and hilarious and I felt the urge to share it with you Plus, Fallout 1 and 2 are way more adventures than some examples that go by that label
Ma maaan, Imagine !
Lovely!! this how a remake should have looked like.

Ditto. I also dig your explorable Colonel’s Bequest mansion, tomimt!

Nice, a lot of good stuff there, including some lesser-known adventure games that you don’t see fan art for every day.

As for adventure game fan music…
As a (mediocre) trombonist myself, I like this funky take on LeChuck’s theme from Monkey Island:
Voodoo, Roots ‘n Grog
by Diggi Dis featuring Alex Jones on trombone
This recently uploaded cover of the MI theme is good, too:
Monkey Island - Spanish Guitar Cover
by Enocguitar
Monkey Island music is well-covered by the game remixing and rearranging scene, so there’s lots more where those came from.

Wanted to show this, from one of our artist working on our game.
This was made us interested in her!
