Adventure Game Scene of the Day — Monday 24 March 2014
Eye of the Kraken (2002) is the first game by Absurdus, the indie developers who also made Carte Blanche. It’s a comedic game which has you investigating the theft of the Kraken’s eye by one of your fellow travelers aboard the Glutomax, the ship you travel upon. You’ll need to to discover the culprit before the week long voyage ends and they awaken the Kraken which would be a really bad thing as far as really bad things go.
The developers have released the game for free now and it can be downloaded from their site.
Do you think it’s worth the download? I mean, does it stand from the gray masses?
You’re asking an obsessive compulsive adventure game collector if a game that is now free is worth downloading? I’d probably download it even if it was proven to cause cancer. :P
Seriously though, the gameplay is probably the weakest aspect of the game so it really depends on whether the humor matches your own as to whether you will enjoy it or not. I thought it was merely okay.

The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
