I just bought this game, but when I open it all I can see is a scramble of black and white lettering, and then it crashes to desktop

Another game I’ve been trying to figure out for years is Bad Day on the Midway (the Residents) - just wondering if anyone has had any luck installing and playing on a newer computer at all.. thankyou in advance <3
