Adventure Game Scene of the Day — Saturday 27 July 2013
A kidnapped child is about to be sacrificed under a wicked purple sky in this scene from Silverload (1995), a horror themed western which I haven’t played in a long, long time.
I remember liking the graphics and setting, but the gameplay being weak. Can’t remember the details though. I do seem to recall that the Playstation version had action scenes added to it though, so if you don’t want that, stick to the PC version.
I found the graphics & theme very appealing & recently acquired the game along with a Win 7 installation disc. I haven’t got very far yet & have been killed once - I don’t know how often this can happen so saving frequently seems like a good idea! Along with your comments Bastich & the fact that it’s in JA’s Dungeon of Shame I’m not expecting too much but I’m loving the atmospheric feel of it!
That purple sky looks AMAZING. The characters and other stuff in the front looks blurry, but man, that purple sky - stunning!

The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
No.3 in the JA+ Dungeon of Shame for worst adventure games ever.
An adventure game is nothing more than a good story set with engaging puzzles that fit seamlessly in with the story and the characters, and looks and sounds beautiful.
