Adventure Game Scene of the Day — Thursday 04 July 2013
Here we have Daedalus, hard at work on his wings to escape the labyrinth of Crete in the edutainment title Wrath of the Gods (1994), a tongue-in-cheek game meant to teach students about Greek mythology that was actually pretty good in my opinion.
It’s like playing an expanded and somewhat comedic version of the movie Clash of the Titans. The original. Not that remake crap.
Surprisingly, it is still available for purchase to this day and has been updated to work on modern operating systems (Mac and PC). You can get it HERE
Seriously, where do you even find all these games? And where on earth did you find them 20 years ago???
The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka

That is something I wanna know either. Amazing!
I am so tempted to try it!
Thanks for the link, Bastich. I’ve always liked the look of the game, so I just ordered it.

Yep, I have to agree with TimovieMan. I have played my fair share of adventure games over the years, and most of the games you are talking about, I have never ever heard of, haha. (not a bad thing though, keep posting, gives me a lot of inspiration) That is why I have not written so much comments on your posts. Keep it up.

Most of the obscure games that I was unable to find in retail stores were purchased off of ebay. You were probably expecting something more exotic, but it really is that simple.

Yeah, that makes sense…but where did you find them in the first place, and what made you think they were worth trying? There is nothing I’ve seen that you’ve posted that I even have knowledge of…let alone have considered playing.
For whom the games toll,
they toll for thee.

I’m rather OCD when it comes to games. I own somewhere around 3000 computer games. As such, I have spent many many hours scouring the Internet for as much information as possible.
Truth be told, if I had enough money I would own every adventure game ever made, or at least those still in existence, and I would want to play every single one though it would be impossible to do so.
I also find obscure games to have a particular draw for me. If my choice is between a known good game and a questionable rare game I will almost always choose the rare game to play instead. I guess I’m just weird like that…

And it shows - look at this thread.
I like it.
P.S. I’m amazed how little people who consider themselves “die-hard adventurers” know about AGs and then get flabergasted by the titles you present us.
Everybody wants to be Cary Grant.
Even Me.
