I would have stepped up to lead Bladerunner if no one else would have.

I wanted to first give someone else a go because I just led WOAM.

I would like to propose along with rtrooney’s idea that the rules be changed so that newer and less well known games are not unfairly disadvantaged. Because obviously if you see a game on the list you haven’t heard of, you are less likely to vote for it. This would be to ensure the prosperity of adventure gaming and the forum. So what I suggest is that games which are ordered according to popularity.  For example, (to take a totally randomly chosen example),  “Blade Runner” in a forum search might come up 937 times while, say, “Observation” (again, totally random choice I made here) might come up 6 times.

So we could say on that basis that Blade Runner is very popular and Observation, well… not.

Then we can fairly deduce that Blade Runner should be presented at the very bottom of the list and in Very small font while Observation should be at the top and in Very Large Font and maybe bright colors so it is better seen.

So then this much fairer list might look something like this:

Observation (5) - Donuts McGee, Karlok, TimovieMan, Pegbiter, Doom

Hypnospace Outlaw (3) - Donuts McGee, Karlok, TimovieMan

Memoria (3) - Advie, Diego, Pegbiter
Tormentum: Dark Sorrow (3) - Lady Kestrel (leader), Karmillo, TimovieMan
[size=1]
Keepsake (2) - Diego (leader), TimovieMan
Lorelai (2) - Chrissie (leader), TimovieMan
Unavowed (2) - Mikekelly, Stroggoff

Heavy Rain (1) - McCoy97
The Last Window (1) - Mikekelly (leader)
Secret Files: Sam Peters (1) - Mikekelly (leader)

Blade Runner (9) - Chrissie (leader), Mike Kelly, Advie, TimovieMan, Karmillo, Pegbiter, McCoy97, Stroggoff, Doom

I’m sure we would all agree this is a much fairer approach and that the prosperity and future success of adventure gaming is much more important than our own petty personal preferences.

Despite Mr. “P. T. Barnum” McGee’s colorful demonstration, I think we can call Blade Runner the winner of this round.  Once Chrissie stops tearing her hair out, she’ll post the playthrough thread.  Grin

Despite Mr. “P. T. Barnum” McGee’s colorful demonstration,

I had to look up P. T. Barnum as I wasn’t familiar with him.

He might have been a showman but he also did this:

He was elected in 1875 as mayor of Bridgeport, Connecticut where he worked to improve the water supply, bring gas lighting to streets, and enforce liquor and prostitution laws. He was also instrumental in starting Bridgeport Hospital in 1878 and was its first president.

Can anyone else here boast such claims? Grin

Heh.  I was thinking more along the lines of one of Barnum’s quotes: “There is a sucker born every minute.” Wink

My first ever community playthrough! Hello)

I vote for Yesterday Origins since I just got it and it’s the only Pendulo game I haven’t played.
I also noticed Memoria in the last nominations, so I’d like to nominate that as well, it’s been sitting in my library for awhile and I’d go in blind.

P.S. Is it necessary to play Yesterday before playing Yesterday Origins?
Thanks!

I didn’t, and enjoyed it fine. In fact I thought it was probably Pendulo’s 2nd best game, mainly since all the others except Runaway 1 were dreadful.

I won’t vote for it unless it needs a vote to win. But there is no nominated game other than LSL-WDDD that would get my vote.
