NickyLarson - 29 April 2019 05:57 AMedit: oooh, is it The Fool’s Errand? (a game which, if I’m not mistaken, TimovieMan has (re)played not too long ago… if that’s the answer, then it was lying right under our nose the whole time!)
It was indeed The Fool’s Errand.
The answer was right there in my signature.
Your turn!
The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka

It fooled me. I played it in black and white and forgot there was a color version as well.

The Mac version is in black and white, while the Dos version is in colour. Cliff Johnson recommends the Mac version as it was designed for the Mac and that version has a higher resolution.
I have the Dos version, and was already halfway through the game when I found out that he’d released all three of his old games for free with a Mac emulator. I didn’t want to restart…
