Has anyone played Detective Grimoire on a PC, and if so, how were the game mechanics? And how did you like the overall PC experience? Was using the mouse a PITA, or just not as “fun” as on a platform device?

The review here on AG made it (the game mechanics) sound like it wasn’t very good on a PC. Unless I’m reading it wrong. For one thing, having never played a game on a tablet before, I guess I’m not sure what the reviewer means by it being “touch-centric”.

By the way, it’s on deep discount during the Steam Winter Sale through January 2nd for $1.39 US.

I played this a while back. I liked it, and the game mechanics were fine, but it was kind of short.

I thought it was charming and different. There was some drag-and-drop action with the mouse, but it wasn’t difficult or annoying. For that price it’s a steal.

Another vote to give it a try. The interface wasn’t all that difficult and I enjoyed it very much!

I played the demo of the Mermaid’s Tongue. Short and very easy. Nice to meet Sally and Grimoire again. It looks like the devs didn’t change much. Same kind of puzzles and deductions. I love the art style and the voice actors are good. But Sally’s vocal fry still rubs me the wrong way and they are both a bit too verbose. Having said that I will definitely play the Mermaid’s Tongue.

The sequel to the excellent Tangle Tower and Detective Grimoire was announced for 2024.
And there’s even a demo on Steam:
