Find the common denominator!
Just thought of a new little forum game that I think could be fun
The rules are simple, you name three games that all have something in common, and whoever guesses the correct denominator gets to post the next challenge!
The denominator can both be something concrete, like a certain developer took part in the development of all the games, it can be related to the plot like “trains”, or be more abstract - but try to refrain from challenges that require mind-reading of the questioners mind or speaking fluent Esperanto!
The games might have more that one thing in common, but only one is the correct answer!
If it haven’t been guessed within a reasonable amount of time, the questioner should add more games with the same common denominator, or if you run out of games, more direct hints until the correct answer is guessed!
Let me get the ball rolling:
What does these three games have in common?
The Longest Journey - The Raven - The Last Express
You have to play the game, to find out why you are playing the game! - eXistenZ
That’s fun! (And close to an idea I had that never materialised because I’m lazy.)
Alright, I think I know: They all take place aboard trains, except TLJ!
If that’s not good enough… maybe… the protagonist is hunted by the police?
That’s an interesting idea! I’ll have a guess that the common denominator is possibly birds?

Great minds think alike
(I actually stole it from a radio program, except with music instead)

It isn’t, and that seems to be true… but is not what I was thinking of

I was indeed thinking of: Crow, Raven and Firebird!
Your turn Chrissie!

Oh! I think I’ve got the hang of this then! Okay, what do the next 3 games have in common?:
Yesterday
Paradise
Midnight Nowhere
Nice idea, Izno!
Chrissie,
The main characters in those games have amnesia.

Yes, indeed they do. Your turn Lady Kestrel!
Here are the next 3 with something in common:
Space Quest 6
Simon the Sorcerer
Night of the Rabbit

I’ll steal Kurufinwe’s joke:
Game protagonists wear a hat, except in Space Quest 6!
I haven’t played SQ6, but I’ll guess that all games feature a parallel universe.
Recently finished: Four Last Things 4/5, Edna & Harvey: The Breakout 5/5, Chains of Satinav 3,95/5, A Vampyre Story 88, Sam Peters 3/5, Broken Sword 1 4,5/5, Broken Sword 2 4,3/5, Broken Sword 3 85, Broken Sword 5 81, Gray Matter 4/5\nCurrently playing: Broken Sword 4, Keepsake (Let\‘s Play), Callahan\‘s Crosstime Saloon (post-Community Playthrough)\nLooking forward to: A Playwright’s Tale
Here are the next 3 with something in common:
Space Quest 6
Simon the Sorcerer
Night of the Rabbit
they shrink.. all of them?
Advie got it right. All of the main characters become very small during the game.

Or something to do with the Templar Knights?
My guess is Jerusalem?

you have to be precise there no ‘or’ here, but anyways dont sweat it, it not the right answer
Or something to do with the Templar Knights?
very very close, but still not right, go more general from the Templar Knights think about the same time and era. , i would ve accepted it but because Lost Chronicles of Zerzura has no Templar Knights mentioned.
My guess is Jerusalem?
again there are no indications about Jerusalem at Zerzura
