I liked the game, but I think it falls short of brilliance…

Yep! The social media spying concept is phenomenal—incriminating people based on their voluntary sharing habits. It’s a commentary on our own fragility, with surveillance laws only slightly more bent than they already are.

But I agree it doesn’t extend to the most twisted possible effects of such a system. Essentially everyone indicted is, in some way, related to a terror plot. It would have been cool to see the spying system used for corporate backstabbing, or political blackmail, or extortion, or whatever. Here’s hoping the second season goes to some of those more nefarious places!

I’m excited for a second season!

The first of three episodes of the sequel, Orwell: Ignorance Is Strength, will be released tomorrow on Steam. I suppose GOG will have it too, although it’s still tagged as TBA. The second and third episodes will be available in two and four weeks time respectively.

I know what I’ll be playing this weekend.  Cool

Well, it’s out. I played the first one long after its original release, so I’m looking forward to seeing how this one plays out as an episodic game.

Very much “more of the same” so far - which is a good thing!

They could have at least updated the music.

Haven’t finished the first episode yet. So far I like that they added voiceacting for phone calls, and that the events take place on the same days as the Orwell 1 story.

Episode 2 is out. I’ve already forgotten what happened in episode 1.

Me too, but I found it easy to catch up with the summary at the start of episode 2. Even if there are some things I don’t understand why did they kill Oleg?

After playing the first episode I decided it would be better to wait for the third one and then start over again. From the pov of the player it was a bad decision to split up the game in episodes.

Finished the sequel today. I wasn’t completely sold until the 3rd episode, but things really come together when the Influencer comes into play.

Definitely should not have been split into 3 parts. It would even be a good idea to play Keeping An Eye On You and Ignorance Is Strength back-to-back since the stories are interconnected. There were some plot elements from the first game I forgot which left me confused at times.
