yep, its a very popular web comic, and other popular web comics have shown to smash through their kickstarter goals quite easily.

Clearly the solution is… to start comics based on our favorite classic adventures!!! (/sarcasm) Tongue

When they get such crazy funding beyond expectations, I bet the creator pockets a big chunk of it for himself. No way is any independent AG going to cost that much to make and it’s double their target. I wish Broken Sword 5 could get this much in funding though, Charles Cecil would probably try and put every penny to use as he’s quite wealthy already I imagine.

Wow, I’ve never heard of this either.  (Or the comic.)  Guess it’s time to see what all the fuss is about.

1.5 mil.  Whoa.  It’s got a lot of high end pledges, but still, that’s a lot of money.

Never heard of it either but judging by the video, I didn’t miss much.

After seeing the Kickstarter I read the start of the comic, and it looked promising for adventure game lovers. I’ve been told that it gets better, so I think it could be pretty cool.

Anyway, if you like adventure games check it out, you might like it.

It’s possible that the creator takes part of the money, but $1.5M really isn’t a huge amount of money for a game, so it’s possible that he’ll find what to do with it.

As for Broken Sword, it’s obvious that Charles Cecil has no idea what to do with money over $800K. By his own admission, that goal includes everything he could dream about for the game.
