Based nightdive studios,

Absolute must play if you have missed this classic

https://www.gog.com/game/d_the_game

Controls are 90s FMV but it was one of the only creepy horror game along with Resident evil,Clocktower or Aloneinthedrk , back in the day.
Great classic puzzles too.

Such a great game. I hear the sequel is worth tracking down too if you have a Dreamcast.

Ok for that time, but not a classic i would say.
D back in the day wowed many with its fmv quality.
D2 went 3d polygon Extermination, TheThing, residentevil type stuff.
Lost the original atmosphere.

Edit:

But it has some crazy over the top Japanese Dev stuff like this,

Just watch this genital eating monster insanity,

Too bad , its good.

Crazy release, out of nowhere. Night Dive and gog are heroes of retro releases.

Its just a tip of the iceberg,

This game would have been blacklisted by feminists and SJW in current era,

Check this 5:38 onwards,

If you though Shodan in Systemshock was epic, you havent played D2.
Lol.

Loved D on the 3DO back in 1995 - game was pretty pricey back then and fairly short too. Good to see GOG bringing this classic to life again.

I enjoy playing adventure games on my Alienware M17 r4 and my Nintendo Switch OLED.

Could somebody explain to me what you like so much in D?

Here’s my low opinion of it.

FMV better than most games in that time.
Story better than Myst or Aloneinthedark.
Creepiness.
High production.
Kenji ono, who has cult status now.

There are cult games like Harvest or Deadly premonition , which hit specific taste.

Funfacts,

Kenji made this game, sony made few copies, kenji got pissed made Enemyzero, another great AG , Saturn xclusive.
His team artdesigner was Fumito ueda, yes the same guy who later made Ico.
Kenji made crazy sequel D2.
Kenji died due to hypertension.

He was all over mags in those days, he had following.

D is flawed gem.
Maybe for many it didnt age well, but there are plenty of crap titles gamers play here just because its AG or nostalgic, so might as well dig this.

I HATED the yucky story.

Bizzare themes and shocking ending revelations were pretty cool for the time.

Dunno what were you expecting.

It has greaat poignant, heart throbbing music too, kenjo ono was composer too.
Since you have good taste in music, give these 3 a try

They dont build like these anymore.

Sounds good, to bad that I don’t have a Dreamcast.
