16. A Bit of Fry and Laurie

Great, now that I’ve finally found it - I knew it sounded familiar - I’m too late… Tongue

Very good! Too of my favorite comedies (or, TV shows overall, most of what I like on TV is comedies) - A Bit of Fry & Laurie and Parks & Recreation Smile Gray Pierce is well in the lead, but there’s still the chance to catch up! (Oh, and gray pierce was also on the right track there about #12 Wink)

Now, let’s see where we are…

Actually a tie is the best Tim can manage to achieve at this point as he can only score 5 points which would land him the same number of total points as I have currently.

Also: I miscounted yesterday. My medley consists of a total of 31 tracks. It runs at just under half an hour!

PS: If you have Audacity. You can use that to record as well. That way you don’t have the annoying crackle after you’ve passed the one minute mark.

But, even points is also catching-up, no? Wink

In case of tie, Tim would also have less wrong guesses and most right ones - I was thinking of using that rule, though if you want and should it come to it, I could also do a bonus round.

Oh, and good to know about Audacity, I do have it (and used it) but didn’t understand to record. In fact, I used instructions from you from a while back Grin I’m glad I could still access the PMs in the old forum.

No tie as No 12 is Babar the Elephant.

I usually just convert YouTube songs to mp3s and then use Audacity to splice them together…

OMFG! Yes!

Christ, I went over lists and lists of shows to check the theme and still overlooked this…

I used the Television Tunes link when hunting for some themes this time.  The trouble with them is that unless you have a hunch about the tune you’re looking for going in, you could spend days listening to all they have to offer.

6. Parks and Recreation

Ah, no wonder this one was familiar.  I’ve seen the ads for it many times in the past couple of months but have never watched it.

Sheesh!  I don’t know why the Babar theme was so familiar to me because I didn’t even know they had made a tv show out of the books.  Thanks for taking me out of my mental misery, Lucien.

This was a fun round, Up.  Despite the fact that I’m not good at it, I look forward to listening to the next set.

Very good! Lucien made quite the comeback Grin Where did you go?

I’m happy to hear it was a fun round Smile I knew the Babar theme would get a great reaction.

Also, Parks & Rec is a great show! At least after the first season (they made big changes). One of the best sitcoms now, and even of all times.

Woohoo! I is a winrar!

And now onwards towards the next quiz. Next up is a rather massive quiz containing 31 main themes from all over the world and across various genres and varying from extremely well known. (seriously one of them I even have as my ringtone) to very obscure. Points are given regarding their obscurity.

Very well known: 1pt
Well known: 2pts
Mildly obscure: 3pts
Very obscure: 4pts

And you get a bonus point for guessing #31 as not only is it very obscure but it also happens to be my all time favourite theme.

The rules are the same: two correct guesses per round, use of google is allowed and hints will be given after they are requested. I’m probably forgetting a few but I guess you guys know the drill by now.

So put in your earphones, grab your notebooks and enjoy!

Yikes, I only instantly recognize about 5 of them. And not many more that are ringing any bells.

9. Broen / The Bridge
28. Ergo Proxy (I admit - I googled the lyrics for this one Innocent)

And we have our first two correct guesses which scores Tim a total of 7 points! Let’s see if someone can do better this round.

Ergo Proxy is pretty good by the way if you’re not bothered by philosophical and artsy stuff.
