The popularity of this hinges on the popularity of windows phones.
So we’re safe for another 10 years at least probably Wink
And if microsoft does achieve a vision of total apple or android-like control?
Well, we’ll see a golden age of linux gaming Wink

Hopefully PC gamers will ignore their store and continue to use everything else.
I knew it was too good to be true to see them release Xbone games on PC.

Another article on the subject

Not sure why Microsoft doesn’t play to their strengths and keeps trying these moronic schemes copying Apple.

On a psychological and historical view, I see this as another Games for Windows Live except even less attractive. Didn’t work then, won’t work now.
For a nitty-gritty practical look, it’s worth looking at what TotalBiscuit has to say about it during a segment of the Co-Optional Podcast. There are a number of serious practical issues with it for developers, players and streamers/youtubers. After hearing it I can’t see any major pc-focused developer getting on board for the foreseeable future.

This is just yet another instance of MS shooting itself on a foot. They’re desperately trying to make Windows store a viable option for gamers, when in reality no one cares. This new scheme works out only if the paying public and the game developers start biting and I don’t see that happening.

but lets not forget that companies as FA* and Activision are Microsoft! frontmen distributors even if its not pronounced, its clear; they follow its rules!
