My condolences.  I myself lost my Aunt last Thursday.
Whether it’s a beloved pet or family, the loss is real.  I’m a firm believer in the ability of Time to heal all.

The feeling sucks, esp when they are growing up and you know the emotional attachment will be painful down the road in just few years of time. They dont live long.

Whats more tragic are events that led to his demise.
We had twins one still alive, two brothers developed animosity and became territorial,
making one to leave the house. However he use to come for food anyway using stealth and what not. But as he wasn’t trained Cat, wild cats got better of him and got him injured,
on third day he developed disease and started vomiting super thin, even in that condition his Bro was intimidating him.
I knew in my guts his time was nigh, i kept myself occupied with work and bloodborne, because last moments are most painful to watch.
Deep inside happy and boom, he appeared vomiting , crying , limping, and it teared me up.
We tried to catch him to get him to Vet, but he was too agitated, and fled.
His bro came like nothing happened asking for his next meal asap.
