Put it in your zakje!

I remember watching this on TV almost 10 years ago. Half his skit made it into my daily vocabulary. I reference it often (especially concerning Albert Heijn).

He did a follow-up skit on The Comedy Factory where he mocks the Dutch holidays (and Koninginnedag in particular).

I also liked Ben Bailey’s skit and “bad latino boy” Angel Salazar’s skit (they used to have the complete skit on YouTube, but I can’t seem to find it).

We have a similar program in Belgium, Comedy Casino. Rich Hall made a great impression there. But the best bit from Rich Hall is in the second part of his skit. Grin

The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka

I like it when foreigners make fun of the Dutch. Here’s Jeremy Clarkson explaining the word ‘gezellig’ (which I often use here).

Basically his father asked the kid to point out where he had smeared the potion (it was potion to prevent rash on a baby’s bum), saw the carnage and managed to stay calm. After he had told his kid that pappa was very angry the kid tried to smile it off but since that didn’t help he started to cry. Brilliant example of how to bring up your kid.

I saw a documentary today about the Castell tradition in Catalonia, Spain. They build these human towers, often something like even 8 “stories” (of people standing on each others’ shoulders) tall. And onto the top climb children… It was just so fascinating, the way they are (because they have to be) such a tightly-knit community (they have to trust each other totally, have to practice a lot, the way they build the towers has to be very “intimate”), the way they have all kinds of people from all sorts of backgrounds and situations, and the way they have everyone in them - men, women, old, young (I mean, the kids on the top are about kindergarten age)...

It’s a very different thing reading about it and actually seeing it happen Wink (So I really urge you to watch that clip…)

And especially in the chilren you can see the feelings involved… They could be so scared at times - especially if they stopped the climb and looked down. Yet they’re so intent about it, they keep doing it, even though they can sometimes fall (and you can see those too there in the video) into a huge pile of people from really high (the children wear helmets though) And then when it’s successful, the children (always in the top) are the centre of all the celebration.

It also brings the point that it’s really a loss that we don’t have the types of traditions here, that would build such a feeling of community. I think at least the Finnish society really lacks too much a certain communality that something like this would really help to build. Though something like this would certainly instantly be banned in Finland Grin

But again, that video gives an idea of what a fascinating tradition it is.

An adventure game is nothing more than a good story set with engaging puzzles that fit seamlessly in with the story and the characters, and looks and sounds beautiful.
