I don’t know what any of those quotes mean. Especially “Shall He pass over? ” and “Faith has no eyes”. Maybe if you explained it would help me decide.

The theme line of the game’s story is “What is true faith?” and it is part of the characters’ journey. Having our two protagonists on the skull as a visual illusion of the eyes we come to the connection with “Faith has no eyes”.

About “Shall He pass over?”. On the front side of that t-shirt we have the doorstop marked with blood. We don’t want to spoil the plot so we cannot go into more details here, but you can get an idea of what this means keeping in mind that the 10th God’ plague of Egypt was Death of firstborn. Before this final plague, God commanded Moses to inform all the Israelites to mark lamb’s blood above their doors on every door in which case the LORD will pass over them and not “suffer the destroyer to come into your houses and smite you”. This is where the name Passover originates, and this is the connection to our question on the t-shirt’s back.

Those shirts all look a little too dark for me to actually wear but I’m loving the dark mythology and philosophy of this game already.  Gimme now! Tongue

Hey, dear adventure gamers, here’s a short update about the game’s current state! Smile

Our recent technical overhaul for Saint Kotar took more time than anticipated, but it won’t stop us from coming through with our vision. The Kickstarter campaign is actually entirely ready, waiting only for us to finish the demo, alongside which we will launch it.

Some of the things that remain to be completed include recording sessions for our voice actors, as well as some technical work in Unity and playtesting. This last requirement is something you may be able to help with as well! As the demo begins to draw near, subscribers of our newsletter and participants of our Discord server will both have an exclusive chance to aid us in straightening out those final hitches by testing the demo before its release!

We will be able to decide on a Kickstarter and demo release date in the following months, and we will let you know about it as soon as possible on all our outlets, as well as here on the AG forum.

Imagine the stress and frustration on our side… Foot in mouth

We’ve been through a lot of roadblocks, trials and errors (which is inevitable when you start developing your first project), but now we are at the point where we finally have a clear path to the finish line.

We have to admit our biggest error: announcing a few times in the past estimated release dates. This made you and the rest of the community expect the demo and Kickstarter campaign so many times in vain. Those announcements were a combination of overly-optimistic estimates, roadblocks we couldn’t anticipate and our never-ending will to make a truly memorable game.

We’ve learned the lesson, we have grown as a team, and we won’t repeat the same mistakes again. Bear with us and the project, the long wait will be worth it.

We’ve been silent for quite some time here so we thank you for the question. Silence doesn’t mean the project has been canceled or stopped, not at all. Slowing down public relation activities was a thoughtfully planned decision in order to focus on development, and, to avoid doing the same mistakes we’ve done in the past when we were announcing the release without being truly aware of how much work was left to be done.

Anyway, the demo is now playable from beginning to end. Internal playtestings are about to begin soon, in a couple of weeks, and then we’ll head into the stages where we add specific animations, sound effects, edit the texts etc. There’s still lots of work to be done but we’re closer to the finish line than ever before.

Do not hate us for waiting so long. It’s not a short demo (sometimes going up to 1:30 hour of gameplay!) and our team is still mostly working part-time or in some cases only on weekends. When the demo comes out and, hopefully, the Kickstarter campaign succeeds, things will change for the better as we’ll have enough funds to make the whole team work full time. Also, the good thing about this long wait is that it allowed us to mature as game developers and establish our workflow the right way. And, lots of things have changed for the project, from the art style and the way we create animations to the tools and ways we design and write the story and puzzles. That time was well spent and if the KS campaign succeeds we’ll need no more than 12 additional months to finish the full game.
