Arrival
Overrated, pretentious and got me hyped like its same level as The Moon and Space odyssey
Its not
3/5
I don’t know if Arrival is overrated, but I am kind of burned out on those spiritual sci-fi movies. Interstellar was fun, but saturated me.

Arrival is melodramatic
Inter was far better and thoughtful , and depiction was more accurate
Inter got a good help from Hans music and some of the best setpieces like docking scene
I think so too, after Inter i didnt bother with Martian too, all are jumping in bandwagon
Manchester By the Sea
Dont watch it if you are looking for good time
Its sad sad story, filled with grief, loss, depression and brooding atmosphere
Casey absolutely killed it in some scenes, totally deserve all awards
4/5
John Wick: Chapter 2 - 3 / 5
The sequel to the pleasantly surprising John Wick offers the same as the first one, but this time bigger, better and more elaborate. We get a better glimpse at the inner workings of the Continental, we get an even bigger body count (with the same percentage of headshots), and a lot of the appeal lies in the superb stunt choreography that feels a lot more realistic (and efficient) than in most action movies… and this without the jitter cam and fast cutting.
So how does this film get called “bigger and better than the first”, but still ends up with a lower score?
Well, it’s lost the element of surprise that the first one had, and I’ve always been a stickler for keeping films like this on a smaller scale. Here they blew the scale wide open, and they almost want to make you believe that almost a quarter of the entire New York population is either an assassin or otherwise involved in mob activities. It’s already gone beyond the scope of the ridiculous in that regard.
Plus I have a lot of issues with John’s shoot-outs vs Cassius (especially the part at that fountain and the part in the subway). Far too much shooting in crowded areas without a clear shot and with an almost certainty of hitting innocent bystanders. That goes entirely AGAINST John Wick’s entire MO.
I do like the apparent Hollywood trend of going against ageism in the portrayal of women over 40. Spectre didn’t shy away from treating 50+ Monica Bellucci as beautiful, and here the 46-year-old Claudia Gerini gets the same treatment. Let’s hope a lot of other movies follow suit.
Logan - 3.5/5
A perfect send-off for Jackman as The Wolverine and Patrick Stewart as Professor X. In fact, I’d go even further and suggest they never make another X-Men film again after this. It’s one of the best in the series, and the last one to feature two of the series’ most iconic actors. Time to end it on a high note, especially since Disney’s “three super-hero movies per year and even more TV-series” as well as DC jumping on the wagon with their Justice League line is pushing the entire superhero genre towards mass fatigue fast.
I love Logan’s approach to the X-Men universe, on a much smaller scale but implying the greater scope, and finally with Wolverine’s blades doing some actual bloody, gory, messy damage. I’m glad they’ve finally upped the brutality in these films (starting with Deadpool).
One can only imagine the “oh, crap” feeling the immobile mooks must have had during the casino rampage. And the makers at least had the balls to make the kid just as deadly as Wolverine in his prime.
So why only 3.5? It still lacks that extra punch, that sudden *click* that the very best movies have (but that so very few superhero movies come close to).
Anyway, don’t be discouraged. It’s a great superhero movie that ticks all the right boxes, and that goes against a lot of CGI-laden approaches.
I’m just getting harsher with my scoring.
The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
Saw ads for an A-list featuring action movie called ‘Arsenal’ to be released this year.
Immediately went to IMDB to check the score and wasn’t disappointed. A 4.0 lol

Cusack is F list
Nic cage is C tier now

What a way to be disrespectful of Benicio.

What does Del Toro have to do with this?
The other two are Adrian Grenier (who’s mostly known from the series Entourage) and Jonathan Schaech (who’s more or less a nobody).
Cusack and Cage together was a great combo for some mindless fun in Con Air, but that was 20 years ago. Both their careers have gone down the crapper since…

But for nostalgia’s sake, it’s still hard to give up on either of them. Especially Cusack, imo.

They are signing too corny and crappy films
Cage still surprises sometimes , his last good one was Joe, killed it, one of his best
I hate cusack, just like that babes debate i had with you
I dislike cusack so much that i wont check his film just like i will score a film +1 for good fan/babes service
Meanwhile, Samuel L is the only guy who does all tiers like a Pro and still A list
Edit
Some good Nic cage shit, from Joe
Cusack had some good movies in the ends of the 90s - High Fidelity and Being John Malkovich come to mind, but is career has really taken a bad turn. That’s Hollywood when you are not bankable or winning awards…
Cage will do everything it gets thrown at him so some might be good (but rarely…)

Identity was las good film he did
That film helped understand killer7
Just watched Rogue one on dvd. Such a terrible film, everything after Jedi has been a disaster. Rather watch Ewok Adventure than this nonsense…
I feel stupid.
I’m a HUGE fan of the director. I had this film on “high priority” when it came out in cinemas, but somehow still missed it. And then - despite it getting the kind of reviews I was hoping for - it still took me three years to finally watch it…
And.
It.
Was.
GLORIOUS!!!
Kingsman: The Secret Service - 4.5/5
Turns out, the best old school Bond film (think Connery or Moore) is actually not a Bond film at all. And it mocks several old school tropes. And has such a high amount of camp that it’s pure awesome…
And best of all: the epitome of “British Gentleman” and perhaps the most non-action actor you can think of, Colin Firth, kicks ass in a way that will surprise you even more than Liam Neeson’s rampage in the first Taken film. The church scene in the middle of Kingsman can only be described as EPIC. The stuff that would make John Wick proud. Perhaps even jealous.
Heck, this film had me during the opening credits. Raid on an Iraqi castle. Explosions as the camera pans closer. Debris falls out the windows, rolls towards the camera and… it’s the opening credits!
Samuel L. Jackson plays a geek with a lisp that’s afraid of blood. And the man still keeps his cool.
Heck, this entire film is so insane, it can have an entire scene of people’s heads blowing up set to the tune of Land of Hope and Glory.
It’s a friggin’ masterpiece of campy spy action-comedy…
And I missed it three years ago, because I’m an idiot…
