I make music

In the “Anything goes”-thread, I posted some music. Some of you wrote that you liked what you heard while others probably were thinking “NOOO! DON’T ENCOURAGE HIM!”. Well, it’s time for the second group to be slightly sad, because I did get encouraged to post more music here…

I have a bunch of stuff recorded that you haven’t heard, because I’ve been using sunday afternoons to record myself playing something to then mail it off to my parents (together with a couple of sentences about how I’m doing), as a way to keep in touch. So it’s not particularly polished, and some if it (particularly the older recordings - I have been learning as I’ve been doing this) is a bit off-key and messy, but I’ve been having fun. And generally, they’ve appreciated hearing the music.

So, as some of you liked what I shared before, I have two reasons for creating this thread: To share some more of the recordings I’ve already done that you haven’t heard, and to ask for suggestions of things to record. (I’ve been considering maybe doing something Monkey Island tomorrow… We’ll see.)

This is an old Easter hymn.

Oh, and if anyone wants to share this thread and post music they’ve written or recorded, that’s fine - go ahead!

I will be honored to use you permission to share one of my Songs/Music i made

The Dark Tower (Insperation)

i ve heard that jazz/fusion track you posted ... Great Work man i loved the brasses seaction arrangements. The beat itself is so soothing, i cant really define it (as i dont play that kind of Music) but sounds great with those Reggie touches , especially with that really nice and moving bass line ...  Thumbs Up  Thumbs Up

The song of the week turned out to be Michael Jackson.

Thanks for posting your song, Advie! It was nice to listen to.

It’d be interesting to hear a live (for an audience) recording of that. That could be quite good. It’s not bad, but it could use the additional energy of a live performance.

Love the brass arrangements, more please!

Good to hear A1 & Lee too.

I will get in on the act by posting this simple 4 bar theme I played around with recently. It isn’t mastered or developed and doesn’t really go anywhere, but then I don’t have a use for it at the moment anyway!

More will come… I’ve started on an arrangement of a theme from a certain well known tv-series that I know that at least one person in this forum loves. (Hint: It begins with a fanfare.)

I’ve now re-recorded some parts, so that it sounds slightly better. Here’s the new version: Red Dwarf Theme (version 2)

Intense: That string piece is really good, man.

Advie: I’ll have to check out your videos later, as my laptop is crap for video, and I’m working.

Trum: I’ve been enjoying your brass arrangements. Makes me wish I could record you for a song of mine. The Red Dwarf theme sounds really cool. Nice work.

I recently did a remix of a song called Last Call, which almost closes my album. I’m pretty sure the link should work. Lemme know if anything goes wrong. OH! And yes, I know there’s a stretch of ambient silence at the end… it’s there for the album.

Lee: The link doesn’t work. This new forum can’t cope with spaces in URLs - I suspect that’s the reason. Remove any spaces from the file name, and it’ll work.

Thanks! (And if you do have a song that could use some horns, I’d be happy to lay down a track for you.)
