4) List of games I can think of that are linear and interesting enough to make good playthrough material:

- Dragonsphere (free on GOG!)
- Dreamfall
- Full Throttle (has that already been done?)
- Obsidian? (does it even run on modern computers???)
- Shadow of the Comet (I’d replay that)

I wouldn’t be against one of these.

Has The Dark Eye (1995) been done? Haven’t played that one yet.

I’ll vote for:

- Spycraft
- Myst IV
- The Pandora Directive

Since two are on GOG and the third shouldn’t be hard to find.

2. Shadow of the Comet
3. A Vampyre Story
4. Spycraft
5. Myst IV

Shame on you!! It’s a masterpiece!!
The absence of actual riddles makes it extremely easy and unsuitable for a playthrough, though it offers LOTS of discussion material…(you will finish it in less than a day, and remember it for the rest of your life.)

Too many game suggestions and nobody willing to take charge and be a game master/mistress.
We all know what it comes up to: no community playthrough (at least not so soon).

I regularly think I’ll join the next community playthrough, and end up not doing it

That’s quite allright. You don’t want to spend your precious time with ridiculous people.

Call me stupid, but I sense a little bit of biting sarcasm here.
And I like it.

@Kurufinwe: I don’t think we’ll get a lot of love for the DS games (even though they’re all simply awesome). I don’t think there’s all that many DS owners present…

Why, all of you owning DS can play. I mean BOTH of you.

HandsFree - 17 January 2013 01:05 PM

I’d be interested in joining

I’d like to see a playthrough with you in. It’s good to know how one’s arch-nemesis’ opponent’s brains work.

Has The Dark Eye (1995) been done?

Yes, and it has nothing to do with the eponymous game from the last year.

I am if Callahan’s, Myst IV or AVS is decided. Smile

It’s not that I’m unwilling. I simply don’t know the games well enough to lead the playthroughs. I’ve only suggested games I haven’t played.

Call me stupid, but I sense a little bit of biting sarcasm here.

I actually like Kuru (and he knows that, or he should) but there are times when he irritates me like hell. Oh well, it’s no news that I’m an inflammable bitch with retractable nails. Kuru always has interesting things to say in any community playthrough.

There, I’m all covered in dust now.

Why, all of you owning DS can play. I mean BOTH of you.

I got myself one too. Smile

Thumbs Up

You will be a great playthrough leader. I’ll participate if Callahan’s or Myst IV is chosen. I didn’t like AVS, unfinished for ever.

PS: Sefir, you’re playing Bad Mojo! Smile Tell us how you like the life of a cockroach?

Looking forward to:

So it’s Callahan’s or Myst IV? I’m in. I was going to replay Myst IV soon anyway and I love Callahan. Smile

But I don’t know how these things are decided.

(screatching cockroach sound translator):
Interesting!! Enjoyable!! And disgusting!! And fragile too (have to save a lot). Also the game often just crashes for no specific reason (see: have to save a lot). I like it!

I have a huge [s]table[/s] world out there to explore.

Glad you like it. Smile It shouldn’t be that unstable. Are you playing the Redux release? And you really should check out the community crawlthrough, led by alpha roach Zobraks, in the old forums.

Yes (In a Win-98 emulator as always).

Already done!  Smile

Can we add Shivers to the list? A few of us in another thread mentioned our desire to play it (diego, me, greyfuss).

My votes go to

1. Callahan’s Crosstime Saloon
2. Shadow of the Comet
3. A Vampyre Story
4. Spycraft
5. Myst IV

My vote goes to A Vampyre Story as well. We almost voted it last year (my Discworld Noir won, however Grin), so why not choose it now?

I see that many of the suggested games are parts of series (and not the first ones as well), and I plan on playing those games in order, especially the Myst series,
so I don’t really plan on voting for them (yet).
