I read this news story today and was shocked to my bones.

Leisure Suit Larry creator Al Lowe under fire for plagiarising the character.
Guybrush Threepwood, Manny Calavera, Leisure Suit Larry, King Graham, Master Chief... all known and loved as original characters from the 'golden age of adventure gaming'... Until now.

Recent discoveries have revealed that the character originates from a series of short stories originally written by the late Edgar Allan Poe. These stories - 'Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards' and 'Leisure Suit Larry Goes Looking for Love (in Several Wrong Places)' - have been neglected by history, due to a number of archival mishaps (later discovered to have been the fault of an orangutan).

Confronted with this new information by a press crew, Al Lowe took off in a helicopter and has not been seen ever since. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts MUST report to their local authorities; copyright infringement is the most important issue there is.
