Default Is there an ''undercover'' adventure game?

I am not really into crime/serial killer adventures really, but I wanted to ask, if there is an adventure where you have to go ''undercover'' (terrorist organization, crime syndicate etc.), even if it is only at specific point, to get an info to get further, or something like that. I know there was a one Splinter Cell (not really in adventure genre) game, but other than that, I don't know any other examples.

Undercover: Operation Wintersun. A British spy in Nazi Germany. Don't know if it's the kind of game you're looking for.

Somehow I doubt this is what you're looking for but Mata Hari might qualify. She was, after all, a spy.

The Gabriel Knight games all have multiple undercover aspects. The first two involve solving murder cases and the last one involves a kidnapping, among other things.

Those games have enough storylines such that they are not simply crime/thriller-based, but rather about the growth of the central character.

A Stroke of Fate: Operation Valkyrie is something along those lines with an high ranking SS officer working to undermine the Nazis.

it doesn't get any more "undercover" than this:

Titanic: Adventure Out of Time - you can call it "sci-fi-historical" undercover

The Last Express - historical undercover by "accident"?

Secret Mission - agent on a.. secret mission?

In Cold Blood - CIA has requested assistance of British MI6 to send an agent into Volgia, a former Soviet republic under control of General Nagarov. You are John Cord, MI6 agent chosen for the assignment.

IIRC, there's a chapter in KGB / Conspiracy where you're going undercover in an organisation to expose a threat to the Russian political system, but that was only part of the game.
Although most of the time you had to avoid letting people know you were KGB in the first place.
