Which Single Word or Phrase Sums up Adventure Games for you?
If you had to pick one word or phrase that summed up the experience and the ethics of Adventure Games, what would it be?
For me it'd probably be "Paris in the fall" as I play AG's mainly for the narrative, this phrase just set Broken Sword up for me perfectly. or "Not Picking that Up" as the frustration of being stuck and seeing obvious solutions that won't be allowed is often a theme with most AG's. |

If It's words then:
1.Stop clutching at straws! (inventory items not combining in Simon 2) 2. Get real George! (Nico in BS3) 3. I am at the crossroads between waking and dream (Brian from Dreamfall) 4. And last but not least the most IMPORTANT ONE! Which is: LOOK OVER THERE, A TREE HEADED MONKEY!!!!!! But what about items? For example, what object/thing reminds you of adventure games? For me are: duct tape, nails, keys, VERY IMPORTANT: LONG PIECE OF ROPE, metal bars(sewer keys included!) ,matches, rocks......and someone else continue! |

I think the whole essence of AG's is summed by the word "explore": collect clues, solve riddles, interact with your environment and other characters - that's what a good AG stands for.

For me there is one immortal phrase that defines all 'Adventure Games';
"A Chicken with a pulley in the middle" |

Probably one of two quotes from Broken Sword 3 (I think 3?) that I kept hearing to my frustration:
"There was no way I was going to do that" "Locked!" |

Over the years I became more and more story-oriented. Well-integrated puzzles that make actually a lot of sense in the story, oh yes please. By now I've had my fill of the weird object combinations and the tired old variations of ancient stand-alone puzzles. So for me it's:
Exploration + Story + Atmosphere = Immersion |

"Stop it" When you click on your character, in I don't know which game.
I though it was pretty funny and then it always followed by "You're making me nervous" or " You're hurting me"
