A Guy You May Never Meet

Just to Make Sure... No Dreamfall Chapters News??
Just wanted to confirm... because I finished replaying Dreamfall a couple of hours ago and I am so pumped for the Dreamfall Chapters that it hurts. I want to know what happens! It's been like 4 yrs already!

And it'll be at least 4 more!
Nah, just kidding, I don't know anything more than the next guy. I see Tornquist twittering about all kinds of other stuff. Looks like they're no where near even taking a glance at possibly going to schedule a meeting to decide whether they're going to start development or not. They're just ... ignoring the possiblity, seems like.

It seems they have not given up the possibility of a new game. Which, in a sense, is worse, since it blocks other ways of continuing the saga. Such as a graphic novel, as it once was suggested.
I would love to read these comics. I mean, they made one out of Starcraft, and the TLJ/Dreamfall saga surely has more potential... |

I create. Therefore I am.

Or a novel. I wouldn't mind that either.

Piracy Issues
Not surprising since it was Tornquist who complained about piracy issues. (see below, it's just an excerpt). You can see the whole article by using the link. Anyhow, it may be a reason why he's not in a hurry to produce the Dreamfall chapters.
http://ragnartornquist.com/?p=578 "Yes, it’s going to be episodic and you’ll need to be online to get it and possibly to play it (sorry; piracy is an enormous problem for us and Dreamfall suffered massively because of it). As well as being available for Windows (and I would hope, at least in the long term, Mac) I’d love to see it distributed through Xbox Live, PSN – the Wii Store, if at all feasible. It’ll be the kind of game that can and should appeal to a diverse audience and thus would benefit from broad distribution in all channels." |

As you all know, Ragnar is still heavily involved in the development of The Secret World. I wouldn't expect any more news about Chapters until after TSW is up and running on its own two feet. Personally, I'm really looking forward to both, but I want both to be excellent, so I'm in no hurry.

I just hope they're still afloat after the release of The Secret World. If that sucker doesn't get the subscribers it needs, then it could spell trouble.

Yep bread and butter issues do matter to developers. But I do hope they end the story properly.

Dreamfall chapters release
I have found a site that quoted the release date for DFC as 05/01/10. Thus it is either running late, or else it is scheduled for this May! I really hope it is for this may and that it has not been postponed or cancelled!

Given that the team that would be working on it hasn't launched The Secret World yet, there's no chance that date is anywhere near accurate.

If the Secret World does well, they'll need to make a sequel... If it doesn't, Funcom wil be properly screwed... Either way, it's not looking to great for all those waiting for a Dreamfall sequel.

It's been five years already and still no signs of a release any time soon. *Sigh* :/
