Huh? I was talking about the specific game (series) titled Tales of Monkey Island.

Thanks for clearing that up. This seems to refer to the remake/ revamp/ relaunch/ sequels of/ to this:

(The article includes the later 3D sequels in the timeline, which I think is kind of nice)

I just love 2D and the reminiscence of it all.

Cheers, Dan.

It's not a remake. It's a continuation. See section 2.5 of the article you linked to.

Yes, yes, yes. I edited my article to reflect that. Sorry, it's been a long time for me out of touch with the genre

No worries. There are remakes around at the moment as well so it all gets very confusing.

If anyone's interested, I have a Mac copy of The Secret of Monkey Island for sale on eBay.

I'm a little late to this thread, but just keep in mind that the old mac games are not playable on modern macs without an emulator and many of the games that were made for both platforms were lazy ports of the PC version (read not as good as) without taking advantage of anything that the platform could have added. In most cases you are much better off getting the PC version and using DOSBox or ScummVM to play them on your mac.

And now there's one more available: Frasse and the Peas of Kejick!

Ok, so it probably isn't the best Mac adventure available (that'd probably be one of Telltale's games), but it certainly is one of the best freeware adventure games available for the Mac!

I hadn't realized you made Frasse for the Mac, Trumgottist, until I read this. I just finished it a few minutes ago and had a great time with it. The tunnels and the lever puzzle gave me some hair-pulling moments, but you made it all a lot of fun.

I bought both Emerald City Confidential (nice) and The Next Big Thing (really awesome). When I finish both, I think I'll buy Kaptain Brave, looks pretty cool.

I've managed to get quite a lot of games working on my Macbook Pro.

Through Scummvm:

Curse of Monkey Island
Broken Sword 1 + 2
Beneath a Steel Sky
Sam and Max
Day of the tentacle

Through boxer:

Gabriel Knight 1
and very recently (today) Toonstruck came through the post... I wasn't very confident with it working but I run it through Boxer and it's working perfectly. So happy as I haven't played it for 10 years now.

On the app store theres also games such as:

Machinarium
Still Life 2
The Next Big Thing
(which I'm definitely going to buy soon)

Then all of the Telltale games.

Sam and Max
Monkey Island
Back to the Future

And there's quite a lot more that I haven't thought of. Mac aren't that bad when it comes to games!
