13? Wow, much bigger than I expected. Should take quite a while to finish this playthrough.
And you're right about the Hero. Longbow was published apparently even before the VGA remake of QFG1. Longbow wins.

We can do a couple of days for the next section, maybe, to speed things up a bit. I think people found the segments a bit short in the BASS playthrough.

The current breakpoint is when you finish Day 1. If you look at the first and second post in the thread, it's explained there.

Yeah, it seems I'm not so clever and observant as I once thought. It's still rather strange that he goes almost directly into the river as scene ends though. Bah! Let's never speak of this again.

I wouldn't quite say long before, being that QfG3 was only the following year so could conceivably have been in production at the time. You're probably right, but it's still nice to think of the brothers as a possible nod to the hero. Perhaps, if anyone were to care enough, Eriq's seemingly perfectly preserved archive of Interaction issues could shed some light on whether it's possible.

Done. 250 points, ten minutes. Short, but sweet; I'm starting to get interested.

Some hints:
Spoiler:
Go a few screens west from the outlaws' camp. You'll come to a clearing. When the dialogue is over, wait around for a while. Something will eventually happen that you should investigate.

By the way, if you need to come back to this clearing (which you will), it'll be on your map after the first visit.

This is an awesome game. I love the background art, the writing, the music, the characters... pretty much everything except the copy-protection.
More on which later, after the play-through is over: I had posted a huge long rant, but I'll save it for the right time.

Here's a nice tip for those new to the game that may feel a little lost. (I don't think it needs Spoiler Tags since it's rather general.)

While walking on Watling Street, try looking left and right of the road using the Eye icon. Robin will provide useful information such as "The Overlook is due East of here", etc.

i've never been much of a fan of sierra games, but that might have been different if i played this game when it came out. i'm really enjoying it immensely!
i love the archery, and the dance animation of marian was really well done. so far this game is great.

Default finished day 1

Hmmm.Thought i'll join in too..Finished day 1 in a matter of minutes. That's pretty much a record for a adventure newbie like me .Btw is there speech in this game?I didn't even have a go at the archery range.Btw how does that arcade slider in the game menu work? The art is nice. The sound however is a bit problematic on my pc which has a sb live. Will post more later.
Cheers,
sciphi

Hi sciphi,

There's no speech in Longbow. The Arcade slider influences how tough the arcade sequences will be. For example; Shooting at the practice range becomes more difficult when it's all the way up.

I hope you'll enjoy the game!

What Cellardoor said about the arcade slider is good info to know. Also, if you're really bad at the arcade sequences you can turn the knob all the way down and the game will play and win for you--but you won't get points.

I always set it to the second-lowest notch on the slider; that way the arcade stuff is as easy as possible to play without missing points.

That's because he wrote east instead of west.

You'll know when you come to it. There's a giant road visible from the clearing, on which several important events happen during the game.
