Can’t say I’m excited for a episodic RE, at least I hope they go for horror…

Never played horror games (except for sound novel ones), but I picked the GameCube version of Resident Evil recently (which has amazing visuals). Only played a couple of minutes, but first encounter with zombie: me -> oooooooooooh, nope, do not want! *runs back to dining room*

RE:Revelations is THE reason I have a 3DS. I’ll pick up the Playstation version of RE:REV 2 - should be good.

That’s what is needed, members from the original team.

Hideo Kojima & Shinji Mikami discuss horror games (The Evil Wihin & Silent Hill)

Asked for his opinions on The Evil Within, Kojima replied, “‘Survival horror’ is Mr. Mikami’s child, so I believe The Evil Within will be his showdown with the genre in terms of both content and sales.”

Well…first of all,I don’t like games that only have jump scares.

I consider jump scares as a very cheap way for someone to make a horror game.Everyone can do it.It’s easier making someone get scared when you have a thing jump on the screen every 5 minutes.I prefer games that scare you with their atmosphere and with other tricks.
The good horror games know how to balance atmosphere, plot and jump scares to create a great game.

I strongly suggest you try Amnesia the Dark Descent,Outlast(with the DLC as well)and the Condemned Criminal Origins.

I can also post some of my very favorite “top horror games” and “top scariest gaming moments”....don’t worry, nothing containing idiots like pewdiepie or other people, they’re just pretty darn good “top horror” vids or Halloween specials. You might like them AND get some ideas as to what to choose to play next! Wink

Please do. And thanks for the recommendations. Recommended games look awesome.
I also don’t like jump scares, as you said, cheap trick. One of the main reasons I don’t find new “horror” films scary.

Wow, thank you for this Grin. I just saw on tv today, you burn like 100 calories watching scary movie (tension etc), now imagine how many you burn while playing horror games Grin. In a way, it’s kinda healthy Grin.
