Mobile Adventure Games?

I’ve been spending more time on my phone than computer recently, and I wanted to see if there are any good mobile-based adventure games out there.  Does anyone have any recommendations?  I’ve done a few searches, but all I’ve come across is either horror/zombies (which I don’t like at all), or escape the room (which is more puzzle than adventure).

Thanks!

I think some of the Wadjet Eye games have mobile versions.

There are quite a few adventure games for mobile devices. The last time I played through Syberia was on my Android phone. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microids.syberia

Anuman has released ABC Murders on Android as well. Ron Gilbert’s Thimbleweed Park is on Android as well as Broken Sword games.

I’ve enjoyed the Room games and I’m currently partway through The House of Da Vinci on my Android phone, but if they’re not to your taste that’s fair enough.

I don’t think you said whether you were looking for iPhone or Android - AG actually has a page of recommendations for iPhone/iPad:

and here are the top-rated Android games:

Some of those at least are available for Android too.
If you like (or don’t hate) text-based games, an interpreter such as JFrotz or HunkyPunk gives you access to a vast library of free games including many excellent ones.

(looking at those lists I’m reminded that I must get round to playing Detective Grimoire and Burly Men At Sea…)

The silent age is great, really fun game to play on a phone. Beside that, there are the remakes from Revolution Software if you haven’t played them yet…

I have HUNDREDS of adventure games on my iPad. I use the mobile games section here on this site to decide which games to buy.

Among the best are the Ace Attorney Games and the Broken Sword games.

And of course Kathy Rain and Fran Bow.

There are indeed mobile versions of surprisingly many PC games - can anyone recommend any good ones exclusive to (or at least designed primarily for) mobile? Or any standout free games for Android?

Can I assume you are referring to android when you mean mobile?

With that, the game I would most recommend is SIMULACRA. I simply loved this game. Not many free adventure game on Android I know of, lots of free JRPGs however.

Recently played Agent A, which got ported to PC, but is a mobile game primarily. It’s a bit of a mix of puzzle- and hidden object stuff; not bad I thought if you like spy parodies along the lines of NOLF (obviously it’s not NOLF).

I’d overall rate it “average”. But if you are more into the theme ...

Lost Echo is a really good mobile exclusive adventure game.  It is not free but is relatively inexpensive.

I really enjoyed Agent A (the aesthetics reminded me of NOLF, too) but thought it might be included in the ‘room escape’ genre that we’re avoiding. Mostly the gameplay feels like an updated version of a certain style of text adventure I used to enjoy on the Spectrum.

Lost Echo looks great but from the screenshots I thought maybe it was designed to be played on tablets rather than phones?
