The building in the distance had a hint of the middle east about it & I couldn’t think of many games with those bright colourful graphics that fitted.

Aporia… The Low Road… Sinbad something…
Haven’t heard of any of those. Does that mean there are too many new adventures to keep track of? Or am I the only one?

You’re not alone, as usual.

You bet. That’s exactly why I stopped playing AG quizzes.
It was EASY to remember all the screenshots titles when there were only 2,000 adventure games or so out there, but now…

Oh, there were NEVER 2,000 adventure games out there. That’s a myth.

Zobraks is right. Not so many in the 80s (unless text adventures are included). Smile But the 90s were golden years. We’re looking at 30-35 years, which boils down to only 65 games a year. By now there are probably way more than 2000 adventure games.

Oh, there were NEVER 2,000 adventure games out there. That’s a myth.

Well, I have a text file with the names of all the adventure games I’ve heard of (one title in each line) and I didn’t count them and don’t know how many titles exactly are there, but a minute ago I pressed Page Down 28 times (29 times actually, but the last screen is not full) to reach the end of the file and there are 76-77 titles in one screen, so you do the math.

hint: 29 x 76 = 2204

And, btw, I haven’t updated that list of AGs since 2015 (when I stopped playing quizzes), so add a four-years worth of AG’s to that number.

P.S. There are very little AGs in my list which are not in English.

For me there are too many new games whose descriptions just don’t grab my interest & therefore not memorable.

There’s more than 4,000 games in the database here, including freeware, although there are quite a few hybrid titles which purists may choose not to count.

His legs are missing?  Cry Or rather, too short. One arm missing?
