Is it Walden? (Haven’t played it, only thinking of it because the narrator seems to be named Henry like Thoreau and it seems to be set in the woods, and the character’s garb could fit with the decade)

Precisely!

A first-person simulation of the life of American philosopher Henry David Thoreau during his experiment in self-reliant living at Walden Pond.

Now I’ve heard everything. No more surprises for me in this life.

Some clever person should be able to deduce what it is from this dialogue, combined with the other screens.

Unfortunately there are not many clever persons visiting the thread in the middle of summer holidays.

Is it Walden?

I stand corrected: Nicky Larson is a genius. Or a philosopher who likes to play adventure games. Or both.
And (s)he’s obviously from the Southern Hemisphere. You can’t beat an Australian. Wink

Well, Northern hemisphere here, but I’ll take the genius part thank you very much Tongue (although to be fairer, I am a philosophy student who likes to play adventure games all summer, so your deduction skills are not wasted Wink - and we’ve been having terrible weather lately)

Speaking of naturalists, here goes the next round:

It’s a pleasure to share the hemisphere with you, Nicky. Smile

It looks like an Audubon painting, but I have no idea which game it’s from.

Well, that bird isn’t wearing much, is it Grin

Could very well be. Alas, it is not Chasing the Bird: a first-person simulation of the life of American ornithologist John James Audubon during his work on The Birds of America - although that sounds about just as good as Walden.

Sorry dumbeur, it’s not Serena.

Sorry, Grue22, it’s not Draugen either.

One of the perks of the game is its gorgeous indoors environments. Whoever decorated that house had some serious taste, and even greater attention to detail.

Hmm. I thought I’d posted this yesterday but can’t see it anywhere! Let’s have another try.

Attention to detail, eh? Could it be a Sherlock Holmes game? The Devil’s Daughter, maybe?

Sorry Phlebas, it’s no Sherlock Holmes game - but I’m sure he would have enjoyed sitting by that crackling fire pretending to think hard about stuff like in his recent game introductions.

In fact,
