Our Verdict:
It lacks the originality of Samorost and never really excels beyond its artwork, but Axel & Pixel is a pleasant reproduction of an enjoyable game style.
The Good:
- Nice blend of gorgeous natural scenery and surreal dream world creations
- richly animated
- enjoyable environmental obstacles.
The Bad:
- Minigames can be frustrating
- Axel never shuts up
- lack of feedback makes some puzzle sequences too ambiguous.
