Default How do you feel about the indie adventure scene?

What do you guys think of the independant scene with engines like Wintermute and AGS?
do you think that its good that people without a high budget and/or team can make high quality games?

Absolutely!! It's fantastic that people are able to make their own high quality games and distribute them to the world at large.

Making games is a method of creative expression and a very satisfying one. I think any tools that support people's efforts to develop games quickly and well are a service to the gaming community. The more games in the adventure game space, the better!

Somebody important (I forget who at the moment) once said something to the effect that a medium can only become a truly effective art form when its materials are as inexpensive and readily available as pencil and paper.

Hooray for indie anything!

The Adventures of Sean 2. An old Hypercard game for the Mac, so it's difficult to find the hardware for it now. Just plain goofy fun, without any attention to "production values" whatsoever - it was drawn with the Hypercard tools, giving it a crude, Crayon-like quality.

I really enjoyed A Case of the Crabs. I loved the style and there were many very clever moments in it.

I also like crabs. Last night I ate half a crab and it was delicious. But I digress.

Incidently, are female crabs illegal to eat in the US?, they are in Canada, though the eggs are fantastic and whenever I have acess to them, (ie: out of country dining) I enjoy the,.

Um... I don't think so. I'm not a big crab eater, though.
