I finally got some time to take a look and found the error with my data patch, which should now be fixed.Here is the new version of the installer.

I am a bit surprised that the link to other installer has not been removed by a moderator as it includes most of the game's main data file and should probably be considered an illegal download, i.e. a link to abandonware.

I was impatient and tried the other installer as per Jawa's suggestion, and although installing the game that way is a bit of an effort and somewhat iffy, it worked very well in the end, so thanks for the hint.

I just now tested also Collector's latest version, since it's a nice, small file, and it seems to be working perfectly. So, thank you, Collector - you've done a man's job, sir, as they say!
