Future Sherlock Games
Hello and may I begin with thanking you for sparing us your time.
The amount of work you put into improving on a so-so Mystery of the Mummy is fantastic. Surely you must consider continuing to develop the Holmesian games. Would you you see it more likely as an ongoing series of shorter similar games or rather chain of more polished, always evolving - but not as often released - products?

There are two antogonist aspects in making games, one is as romantic as the other is despised, they are creation and company management. creating a wonderful product, in a long time period, polishing it to the best extend, without money, is not really possible, as you may have surmised. We had to go with publishers through the mystery of the mummy (and its great commercial success) and Journey to the center of the earth (which lacks of polishing) to get independent and create the game we wanted, in the planning we wanted. We intend to continue this way, but it depends of the success of our games, if we can continue to be independent and spend more time on our games, that will be more profitable for everybody. 2 years between two games is not a very long time, they do shorter with splinter cell for example, on the other hand we will make the game evolve also with machine minimum requirements (we base our games on three years old standard computers). JTTCOTE was based on 16Mo video card, which is quite low and doesn't allow such details of characters we have now in "the silver earring". the next Sherlock game will be in real time 3D for instance as the minimum requirements improved. |
