If I remember correctly, trap books are incomplete linking books. So I guess he finished the links using Spire and Haven.

But it was quickly explained somewhere... don't remember where though....

The same thing happened to me with the Myst books. Otherwise, not really. But that's mainly because most games seem to take place in a setting I know enough about.

I liked that game a lot. It was really fun. I played the mac version, and I can say that the characters sometimes had terrible lines, though the voice acting never failed to deliver them...
