Default A Few Pointers : Penny Arcade Adventures

I have just finished the first episode and will start without delays the second episode...
Even with a forbidden word to adventurers like Arcade this game just might interest the light weight Adventure gamers...
The game found its way into this site and you can find it here under Games A-Z...It even got a feature article so it has enough elements to interest casual Adventurers...
So first of all let us eliminate those who are not going to try it...
This is an RPG game with lots of combat...We will get to it later...
There are not any puzzles here....
There isn't voice acting here except the narrator who does an excellent job...He is not going to say much but when he does it is always funny...
The game is presented as a comic book...Conversations will be shown like you read a comic book with a bubble with an arrow indicating who is talking...There will be animations to show you facial expressions and actual demonstarton of the items being talked about...So it is presented in a lively manner...All you need to do like any adventure you familiar with,is to click with your mouse and choose which line to say...Since you play this game with other two buddies you will spend time talking with them...The dialogues are always funny full of ironic and sarcastic remarks...While you are in a conversation mode you can't do anything else...Once you finished talking you are taken into the Exploration screen...
While in Exploration mode you roam with your two buddies looking for anything useful to your mission...It can be a useful item or meaningful person...There are lots of hot spots to interact with but again no voice...You must read it all..This is quite a drag ,no way around it...
While roaming ,the ambient sound will set the right atmosphere and the mood of the area you are in...There will be also all kinds of sound effects to make up for the lacking of voice...You can also interact with your two buddies and get their insights...
The items you pick will be mostly useful for combat purposes and sometimes you will pick up an item to be given to someone else who will reward you with something...
Before the game starts you can customize how your hero will look like... decide all kinds of cosmetic decisions and you can even choose a female...
As the game starts you are working at your garden while suddenly a giant robot appears and smashes your house into pieces...As you follow him you see two other guys running after him...You join them to make a team of three...Together you are exploring Arcedia with the aim of unravelling the mystery behind this giant robot...
What you are going to do in this game is fight a lot...But this is not a chaotic mindless combat...Just like Chess has its rules, the combat here has specific rules...You will make almost all your combat with your mouse...
While you roam you will be faced with all kinds of enemies...If you get close enough to them the exploration mode change into combat mode...
You in the middle ,with your buddies beside you and in front of you or behind you will be number of foes...each combat a different number of them...And to make the fighting more interesting there will be different mixtures of them acting as teams...Each one of them has strengths and weaknesses which you must take into consideration if you are to be victorious...
As the combat begin a roll of luck decides which one of the opppenets gets the first initiative...While one of the contenders attacks no one else is allowed to attack...
Each one has a basic attack and a special attack represented by icons...Each icon has a timer...If the icon is not green you have to wait until is ready for action...While waiting each one of the enemies might decide to attack each one of your party member(You can't see obviously their timers)...And you never knows if he going to use his basic attack or his special attack...While watching your icon being filled by the timer you must prepare to block any attack made on your party members...You block by using the Space key on your keyboard, if your timing in blocking is pefect ,not only you block the attack you receive a free counter attack...So blocking is the crucial factor of winning a battle...
If one of your party members gets killed you can revive him with one of your potion...You have all kinds of potions to use in combat influencing attack, defense or speed factors to aid you in your fights...
You might wait with your attack until you are able to do a devastating combo attack by two of your members...
Three more supporters will join your mission during the game that will aid you beating enemies...
The combat is fantastic here with tactic and strategic decesions to make...And once you get the hang of it there is not any adventure nor any puzzle that will satisfy you and reward you like these battles....
Each one of your party members has different qualities and fights in a different manner...Each one of the special attacks is executed by using a different key strokes...
During the game you will be upgrade your weapons...improve your special attacks and raise your level as can be expected by RPG game...

There are also cool mini games to be played at the carnival to give a little variation to the gameplay...

My final verdict : Anyone in need of diversion of adventures or in need to give the brain a little rest will find plenty here to enjoy...

Just finished the second episode out of the four expected...
This episode brings a better presentation...better combat system ,a few scattered puzzles and overall a more polished game...
This time there is an option to choose out of three levels of difficulty...And a cool tutorial to newbies...To anyone who has beaten the first game I suggest to play on hard difficulty...Being able to beat the game on this level will unleashed the option of insane level...
The combat system here works like magic and you never get tired of the action...I really think that it is one of the best combat systems around...
The opponents here are very funny in their method of fighting against you...Robots that pisses on you...Ladies that sends their pet cats on you...Mimes that do all kinds of mimic rituals before hitting you...Lunatics who smack themsleves and so on...This is combat like you have never seen before...This is a comic combat...This is FUN !!!!
Sometimes the opponent flee in horror only to return with his friends...Such a cool game..By now I'm completely hooked...
The story is the same as the first Episode...You are still homeless looking for clues about the giant robot who smased your house...

P.S Did I mention that your last opponent on each episode is going to be a GOD.....
