Default Why are adventure games so popular in Germany?

Although this isn't directly TMOS related, you're based in Germany, which is seen as a hotbed for adventure games. Do you have a theory why the adventure genre has had so much interest in your country? It seems like a good place to be making them.

Hey Marek,

I rather tend to think that it is a European phenomenon, and Germany is just one of the really large markets here.

Of course, publisher efforts are one key difference. Germany has a publisher focusing on Adventure Games (our friends at DTP), and they really bring attention to the genre, because they believe in it, love it and know how to reach adventure gamers AND gamers from other genres.

There is enough potential in many territories, I'm convinced. But you won't reach it with a publisher who treats his adventure games as C-titles.
