I was only joking.

I totally agree with you. Steve is the greates to share all his thoughts and knowledge about games. I wish there were more people like him, and you, Martin.

Thanks Martin, but the last thing I want to do is step on your toes.

You can't, because there was this incident with my lawnmower this summer. And you will have to live the fact that there is demand for you here.

Btw, have you thought about turning the Developing Thoughts into a book?

A few people have asked me that. Perhaps I should consider it more seriously.

You really should.

The last good book I got my hands on was the Interactive Writer's Handbook, and that's from the Mesozoic Era (and - of course - out of print).

I had thought that Developing Thoughts was part of a bigger plan - good books on game writing are rare.

Go for it! I'd buy it

I've never read a book on the subject (game writing or design or whatnot) but I'd be very interested in this, it'd be like my layman's guide to game design I mean that in a good way; your Development Thoughts are very clear and accessible!

Thanks guys.

I kind of half entertained the thought when I started up the column and even came up with a chapter list (some of which I've used as a starting point for my columns). Perhaps I may turn it into a more concrete book proposal when my current deadline is past...

I have to agree with those urging you to expand the essays into a full blown book. It goes along the same lines of the symposiums or classes. *cough* You have a gift for not only writing, but doing so in an enlightening and accessible way.

So share more already

I also hope that you turn it into a book at some point. Do throw in some new goodies though, because othervise it'll be a bit too deja vu for me.

And I get 50% as we agreed earlier, right?

Turn it into a book, and then send us all copies .

Seriously, though, I'd buy one...
