Default Why New York City?

I understand the game is set in New York City. Why did you choose this particular location?

No. I've never been to New York.

I chose the location New York as the metaphor for, well, the western world and where it is heading -- socially, technology-wise and politically.

Was that decision made before or after 9/11?

Thats a really good question - I just got to the part of the Guru. It seems like
I have been waiting for this game longer than after 9/11 but it does have a 'today' feel about it.

bump...

Just wanted to make sure the 9/11 question didn't get lost in the shuffle (I don't think it's been answered elsewhere?)

You guys and girls don't ever read anything I write in long, late, lonely hours, do you?!

But -- that's ok.

I'm not angry.

I'm not even disappointed.

I'm just... sad.

Actually, I did read that. On Monday.

I guess this means your rough 30 page draft was set in New York, huh?

Yep. In terms of locations, characters and overarching story, the first draft was already quite close to what MOS finally became.
