Syberia: Blue Helena - Where's the Lime?

The recipe for the Blue Helena drink calls for lime. I've been pixel hunting all over the hotel, but all I could find was a lemon, and it won't work.

Any suggestions?

edit: fixed typos

I don't remember it needing a lime. Hmm. And the UHS hints agree with me. I (and they) could be wrong though.

That's right, you don't need a lime, you just need something a little LIKE a lime . . . you're on the right track, Grey. :) (I just reread your post.)

For anyone else having this problem . . .

Spoiler:
There is a lemon--it's a bit hard to find. It's UNDERNEATH the bar, in a little cabinet. Have Kate look down and open the cabinet, and you will find the lemon, as well as some crystallized honey that is its own small puzzle.

Also: the reason it may not be working may have nothing to do with the recipe, but with the controls on the bar contraption, which are a little complicated. :)

He clearly says "lime". Take a look:

I tried the lemon, but it didn't work. If it does in fact need a lemon, I'll try it again. Maybe I did something else wrong.

Yes, it does say lime.

Spoiler:
Of course it says lime. It's a puzzle. You're supposed to figure out that you can use the lemon! It's a trick!!! HEHEHEHEH! :(

Are you sure you are using the controls for the alcohol right? You know about the musical scale, right? And have you figured out what to do with the honey?

Well, using that kind of logic, I should also be able to use rum instead of vodka. :D

Yes, I'm using liquid honey. My problem must be with pushing the appropriate keys.

Grey 01-24-2005 02:18 PM

I finally figured it out. I was just counting the keys in the wrong direction.

The puzzles in this game can be frustratingly deceptive. I wasted too much time searching for that lime. I also wasted a lot time trying to manually open the Barrockstadt Lock, when in fact it needed to be opened with the automated system.

I suspect that the lime/lemon thing is a translation error. In some Romance languages, the same word is used for both fruits. I know that is true in Spanish. I don't speak French, but I can see this as a possibility.

Yep.
Lime is citron vert (green lemon)
Lemon is citron (lemon)
