The Longest Journey won't run
I have a P4 with Windows XP and I am unable to run TLJ on my PC.
I have tried all the compatibility options and it hangs. If I live the defaults when executing the game.exe I recieved the error: Dra\engine03\DX-Module\surface.cpp 509. Check failed:Access to this surface is being ferused because the surface memory is gone. The DirectDrawSurface object representing this surface should have Restore called on it. Please help!!! |

I got stuff like this randomly all the time when running the game in Windows 2000. I just kept trying and sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Also, sometimes reinstalling the game helped.

Try downloading the latest videocard drivers and also try to find drivers for your monitor instead of using default Windows monitor drivers.
Also check DirectX settings and download the latest DirectX version. --Erwin

SOLVED
I upgraded to DirectX ver. 9 but I had problems, the only way to make it run is to restart the computer and then run the program before connecting to internet, for some reason the game crashes when the network is up and runing. Thanks |
