Default Shadow of memories support!

Today my copy of Shadow of memories arrived from eBay, a brand new copy completely sealed. I've installed it but when I try to run the game it says "no disk inserted" with the options "retry" or "cancel" below that. The disk is inserted though.

I've tried it in both my cd-rom drives but the problem is the same. If I use the autoplay command where I get the options "play, uninstall and exit" it still says insert disk if I hit play.

I'm grateful for support.

Ugh. This has something to do with the copy protection. Are you on Win98 or WinME? I think the problem was limited to those OSes.

Lucky for you a patch was released for the European version. (No patch for the US version, which meant a lot of people couldn't play it...) I'm pretty sure this patch solves the problem you're having. Available here.

I also remember hearing about people downloading a crack to get past the copy protection. I remember it because it sparked a big conversation about the ethics of downloading cracks to fix a bug. I don't think that was on this board, though.
