Default Recommended Video Cards?

I'm looking to upgrade my Video Card so I can play Broken Sword 3. Right now I've got a 32mb Nvidia Geoforce 2, and of course I need at least 64mb. Of course, I want my new card to be compatible w/ ScummVM as well as run all my other current stuff.

The one I snagged at Best Buy today did none of that, and didn't even play BS3, which is the only reason I got it in the first place. I plan to return the card soon enough, but I'm going to have to get some sort of replacement.

So, does anybody out there have recommendations? Something that is known to play BS3, ScummVM and doesn't require a PhD in order to install.

If my other specs will help any, here goes:

Dell 8100
1.3 Ghz Intel
128 MB Ram (Which will be upgraded 256 once the chips arrive)
Sound Blaster 64V

P4 1.3ghz eh?
You probably aren't looking for a top-of-the-line model...
I recommend Radeon 9600 Pro, or Geforce 4 Ti4200/4600 if you can find'em cheap...

I recommend the Radeon Sapphire 9200 SE. The Sapphire line is essentially a line of cheaper models of the corresponding "real" ATI Radeons. They have identical specs and run 1/3 to 1/2 the price. The ATI 9200 SE runs about $100 new, while I got my Sapphire for $30 new in a killer deal. It isn't a top of the line card, but then your computer isn't either. They come in both 64 and 128 MB models and will handle up to 8x AGP. For what you get, the prices on the Sapphire Radeon line are simply unbeatable.

hmmm... radeon 9000 seems to choke when running BS3. doesn't 9200 use the same chipset?

or maybe it was because I was running it with FSAA.

I ran BS3 just fine. Zero problems. Did you set your AGP to its max? I don't know if it's 2x or 4x on that machine. Might also be FSAA.
