TLJ- police station fix
 

hi. So, iv been stuck in the TLJ due to repeated crashings whenever i try to get near the police station in metro west. I'm using the original 4 cd version and iv learned they made a patch specifically for this issue, but i cant find the patch anywhere, any links i find to this patch are broken. Anyone got any ideas?

Is the crash only at the main entrance of the police station? Because I do remember that being a frequently encountered bug, and it can even without a patch be avoided (you can play the game without ever coming to the main entrance of the police station).

You do miss out an optional bit of dialogue, so finding the patch would be even better (I don't know where it is I'm afraid), but at least then you know that even without the patch you can still finish the game.

^unfortunately i found that patch and it appears to be for the 2 cd version released in 2003(as it wont install). Buuuuut, iv found something that suggests the fix i need may actually be on cd 1 of the game... so il check that now...
edit: oh i see the forum you linked suggests that as well lol.

I also have the 4cd version and I think this is even in the readme. Weird that the installer doesn't apply the update itself.

Yeah, the devs made some kindv implication that people shouldnt use the patch unless they really needed too. Which is odd indeed....
Unfortunately iv been so busy and out of rythym that i still havnt gotten back to playing this :P

Not odd at all. Often patches can also cause other problems.
