Darkness Within 2 machines problem
 
I tried asking on the official forums to no avail, so perhaps one of you people here might be able to help me.

I am unable to ask Henry to decipher the part about the machines. I have read 2 walkthroughs so far and I *should* be able to talk to him about this but cannot. I have the Thought "Speaking machines", I have been down-stairs and clicked on the machine, generator, phonograph etc... I just cannot get the option for Henry to decipher the part about the machines?

Can anyone help? Perhaps I have missed something?
