Echo Secret of the Lost Cavern Windows 7

I am trying to install Echo Secret of the Lost Cavern on windows 7. It installs fine, but the game won't launch.
I have tried almost all compability modes. Also installed
it in Documents instead of Program Files. But it doesn't
help. The game won't launch.
Does anyone knows if it is possible to play the game
on Windows 7?

From my testing the issue appears to lie with the game's CD check. As of yet I haven't found any way to get around this issue without resorting to hacking the exe file but I'll keep working at it and see if I can find an actual fix. Might be as simple as properly registering the DLL with Windows or running the installer with elevated permission; but as I haven't tried either of those yet I can't say for sure. The DLL in question is spr.dll from the look of things. I'll poke around a bit tomorrow probably and see what I can turn up.
