Default Sound and Visual Problems in The Whispered World.

I finally got TWW and it all installed okay, however the sounds trips and stutters in cut scenes and around once every minute the screen kind of flashes for a split second in game play, almost as if there's a momentary screen dump, it's hard to explain.

I'm running the game on a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop.

Any help would be appreciated,

Cheers.

I'll try my usual shot in the dark with sound issues: maybe you have to lower/turn off directX hardware acceleration. It sometimes cures sound issues.

A very long shot would be to fool around a bit with the DirectX hardware acceleration of the visual bit, so directDraw, direct3D and the like, but it may just as well do nothing.

Had a crash from a c++ error and now also I've just got this

Lost about 2 hours game play all together

And I can't find anything on directx as far as my laptop is concerned it doesn't have it. I can find the folders but there's nothing in them lol.

I know you can get to them in windows XP by either running dxdiag, or go to Configuration and then DirectX (if it is not present there, that does not mean it is not on your pc).
I have heard that it is different under windows Vista/7, and I don't know how to get there with those operating systems...

Thanks! I put the acceleration to basic I'll see if there's a difference.

If you've got the disc version, and your crashes are happening in Chapter 4, there's a patch
http://www.filefront.com/14415615/tww_hotfix_1.01.zip/

"Daedalic provided this hotfix to address a small script bug in the 4th Chapter of The Whispered World."

Yeah I've got the disc version, it's happened in every chapter so far though but thanks for the patch.
