drowned god`s patch is corrupted
 

hello everyone!

i recently got my hands on the quite rare gem "drowned god",
but the game keeps crashing... i heard on a patch that
might solve this issue (something called "dgpatch4.zip"),
but all the files i find online are corrupted zip files

i`m not sure that this is the solution to my problem, but
if it is the solution, does anyone have the patch? (or a link to the complete patch?)

Are you positive the files are corrupt? Try using 7zip?

So, did it work for you?

i`m pretty positive the file is damaged, because both 7zip & winrar & winzip show that.
and "winzip" is supposed to be backward-compatible is earlier versions of zip
files (the patch is packed in a zip file), so the problem can`t be a "versioning"
problem.

if anyone have an alternate solution, or have a working patch, i`ll be glad
to hear that...

Well, I unzipped it with winrar without any problems...so I don't understand.
Did you get the file from my link, which I sent you in a PM?

Is it the unzipped files you talk about or the zip file itself?

Maybe we should ask, if you got the game from a torrent download, because that may be the reason it doesn't work then.

1. i didn`t get any PM from you...
2. i got the game from ebay, but there is no connection between that fact and the zipped patch file, since the downloaded patch zip file is corrupted so i can`t even extract the patch use it on the installed game.

3. an example of a patch`s url that suppose to work, but doesn`t (in 2 distinct computers) is :

but unfortunately the game still crashes just as the opening movie starts...

i`m beginning to think that maybe this problem has nothing to do with the
patch.
i`ll try tweaking with XP`s configurations, maybe i`ll find a solution...
i`ll post the solution to the problem if i`ll find it.

well, i`ve tried anything and i ran out of ideas...

if anyone had the same problem (or will have one like this in the future)
and finds a solution - please write it here...

in the meanwhile, i`ll put this game on hold, and move on to other adventures :\

Just a shot in the dark, here, as I am unfamiliar with this game, but crashes from cut scenes often are caused codec issues. but if you know what format that the in game movies use, you can try updating that format. Otherwise, you could try uninstalling any big codec that you have installed, like FDD Show.

the game is installed with directx5.
i`ve upgraded the directx version to directx10 and it worked like a charm!

It is a rare gem, a beautiful yet totally obscure, uncomprehensible game. Kudos to anyone who can follow the storyline...
